The classic Coupé and the four-seater Cabriolet in the Mercedes-Benz E-Class are among the most desirable cars in the upper medium-size category. With their intelligent and efficient technology, coupled with a range of luxurious and comfortable equipment and appointment items, both models are uncompromisingly configured to deliver an awe-inspiring driving experience with a truly exclusive flair. Not without reason are they therefore considered the highlights of the successful E-Class family in terms of their emotional appeal. The design, both exterior and interior, now has a new freshness and edge to it, so ideally complementing the many new technical features of the vehicles. Key to the new look of the E-Class Coupé and Cabriolet is first and foremost the redesigned front end with new headlamps. The proportions of the Coupé remain as classic as ever, with a long bonnet, elegantly stretched silhouette, low roof line and powerful tail end.
Open-air comfort:
the new E-Class Cabriolet.
Fully retractable side windows are also a characteristic feature of the four-seater Cabriolet, serving to emphasise its clear proportions and the gentle upward slope of the shoulder line from the front through to the boot lid. Thanks to the particularly high-quality insulation of its acoustic soft top, its noise level is the lowest in its class. Exceptional cabriolet comfort, even with the roof open, can be ensured with the optional speed-dependent AIRCAP system, which reduces air turbulence in the interior and thus also wind noise. The draught stop between the rear seat head restraints automatically recognises the number of occupants by registering whether the rear seat belts are fastened and adjusts the position of the retractable wind deflector in the front windscreen frame and of the draught stop accordingly.
Also available as an option: the AIRSCARF neck-level heating system. This extends the cabriolet driving season by making open-top driving a pleasurable experience, even when it's cold outside.
Coupé diem.
A broad range of powerful petrol and diesel engines are available for both the Coupé and the Cabriolet models in the E-Class. All are fitted with the ECO start/stop system and are exceptionally efficient. Both Coupé and Cabriolet feature the AGILITY CONTROL suspension with selective damping system as standard.
An AGILITY CONTROL sports suspension with more tautly tuned dampers and the Dynamic Handling package are available as alternatives. Like the Saloon and Estate models, the E-Class Coupé and Cabriolet models will from now on also feature an electromechanical Direct-Steer system as standard.
Safe performer.
The Coupé and Cabriolet models in the E-Class, like the Saloon and Estate models, feature a range of new assistance systems that meld comfort and safety, grouped together under the heading of "Mercedes-Benz Intelligent Drive".
They include, for example, systems that can prevent accidents involving crossing vehicles or pedestrians, the Active Lane Keeping Assist system and anti-glare continuous main-beam headlamps.
No long words needed.
The interior of the E-Class Coupé and Cabriolet has also been redesigned by Mercedes-Benz in order to align it harmoniously with the expressive appearance of the exterior. The predominant features of the interior include the use of fine-quality materials, a two-part trim element that extends the full width of the dashboard and clear, uncluttered surfaces. The E-Class Coupé and Cabriolet offer almost unlimited possibilities for individualised design, with the help of a range of new interior colours and colour combinations, amongst other things. A state-of-the-art infotainment system ensures full enjoyment of music as well as a choice of highly effective navigation solutions and access to the internet.
Neither the new E-Class Coupé nor the new E-Class Cabriolet has need of long words in order to make a statement. They are both in absolute top form.
