Green figures for Mercedes-Benz
Genuine Remanufactured Parts.
Study proves sustainability of remanufactured parts programme.
Figures that speak
Mercedes-Benz Genuine Remanufactured Parts go easy on the environment because they do not have to be completely built from scratch. Every year this saves many megawatt-hours of electricity and thousands of tons of valuable raw materials. Mercedes-Benz is now the first vehicle manufacturer who can document these green figures. The independent German Technical Inspection Authority TÜV Süd examined the Life Cycle Assessment study on the reconditioning of various used components compared with the production of new components. Criteria such as CO2 emissions and resource consumption were taken into account in these studies. The results are certified to international standards* and show in black and white that sustainable mobility is efficiently put into practice at Mercedes-Benz.
Remanufacturing reduces the
burden on the environment.
Hope grows with every remanufactured part: the savings of climate-damaging CO2 for a Mercedes-Benz OM906 genuine reconditioned truck engine equal the quantity of CO2 which 14 trees can convert into oxygen in ten years. With a genuine reconditioned G281 truck gear box
emissions are reduced so much that 1.6 kilograms of coral reef are preserved or 15 cubic metres of drinking water remain clean and pure. And with the energy saved with a reconditioned NAG2 car gear box a laptop can be powered for 190 days running.
Many good reasons.
Many good reasons for Mercedes-Benz Genuine Remanufactured Parts. They pay off also for the customers: they get 100 percent quality and save an average of 35 percent compared with the cost of a new part.
