Every two years Hanover hosts the heavyweights
for seven days, when the industry's most powerful
commercial vehicles roll into Lower Saxony's
CO2 emissions (combined): 130-112 g/km*.
This year in Hanover, Mercedes-Benz celebrates the premieres of numerous pioneering models from 20 to 27 September. In addition to the eagerly awaited unveiling of the Citan, the Stuttgart carmaker also presents important technical innovations for the Sprinter, service, sustainability and safety. Other highlights include a lovingly restored classic from the early days of delivery transport.
The Citan. The new hero
for inner-city delivery.
The celebrated new inner-city delivery van creates the heart of Mercedes-Benz exhibition booth this year: The Citan. Premiering at the Commercial Vehicles IAA, the Citan combines the numerous benefits offered by its large cargo volume, low fuel consumption and exemplary safety with compact dimensions, making it the perfect partner among the inner city delivery vehicles.
The Citan is the most economical vehicle in its class and thus represents an important technological advance in terms of fuel consumption. Its compact dimensions and low CO2 emissions are ideal for inner city operations. Thanks to its numerous options, the new Mercedes-Benz Citan can be customized to carry out any task.
With a view to the future.
Mercedes-Benz vans demonstrates just how efficient the commercial vehicles of the future can be with its environmentally friendly solutions.
In addition to the Citan, the prototype of the Sprinter E-CELL also celebrates its world premiere. This is the world's first van to be equipped with this environmentally friendly electric drive system. The Sprinter E-CELL effortlessly handles the normal distances demanded by day-to-day distribution transport, trades and the service sector. The engineers and developers are already looking forward to hearing the opinions of the most critical jury of all – the visitors.
The new Sprinter embodies the Mercedes-Benz passion for innovation. The seventh gear reflects this innovative drive and the Sprinter is the world's first van optionally available with the seven-speed torque converter automatic transmission: the 7G-TRONIC. The new seven-speed transmission's advantages lie in its broad transmission-ratio spread with a smaller graduation between the gears. As such, the Sprinter effortlessly handles steep inclines and hill starts: A short translation in first gear ensures a dynamic acceleration from a standstill. At high speeds the Sprinter also delivers convincing efficiency: Low fuel consumption, low emissions and low engine speeds. At the same time, the Sprinter always has the right gear for every driving situation.
