Once a day: Mixed Tape.
While we can’t do much about those shortened daylight hours, we can offer you an exciting antidote: a daily dose of Mixed Tape treasures, culled from the latest crop of stand-out songs. Inspiration, like chewing gum, can be found everywhere.
An inspired mix that keeps those dark hours at bay – and according to this issue’s cover artist, Jon Burgerman, “inspiration, like chewing gum, can be found everywhere. Sometimes you don’t even have to look for it, you’ll just be walking along and – bam! – you’ll get some inspiration … or some gum on your shoe.” Skipping between chic and cheek, the award-winning UK-born, NYC-based urban artist has assembled a vivid coterie of winter-inspired characters to capture the season’s festive spirit. A prime candidate for such pop/art crossovers, Burgerman dabbles in tongue-in-cheek music/performance as part of Anxieteam – his own band with fellow artist and occasional New Yorker Jim Avignon.
